On a December morning driving to work, I listened to Rick Beyer, the author of Ghost Army of World War II discuss the story of American GIs working to fool the German Army that inflatable Sherman tanks, rubber trucks, and recorded sound effects were real American tanks, trucks, and troops deploying close to them.
