Copies of the bibliography, Good Romances 2014, are now available in large print for Talking Books Plus members. The Introduction says “this bibliography is a guide to selected romance titles produced by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) in audio and braille formats. January 2015 Bestsellers List

The January 2015 Bestsellers List compiled monthly by NLS combines information taken from the bestseller lists of the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.
Bestsellers are included in the report when they appear on one of the above bestseller lists for a month or more.
Once a title appears in the report with an NLS book number, it will not appear on future reports.

Gentle Romances for Valentine's Day

RI Talking Books Plus (TBP) has the bibliography, Gentle Romances 2014, published by the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS.) According to NLS, these selected romance titles produced by NLS in audio and braille format do not contain explicit sex, violence or strong language. The titles are indexed by author as well as title. TBP hopes to be able to post an online link to this NLS bibliography by February 14. Watch for an announcement.

NLS Magazines on Cartridge extends loan period

According to NLS (National Library Services), the talking magazines on blue cartridges are now loaned for a longer time. The allotted reading time for weekly cartridges (those containing weekly magazines only) has increased from one week to three weeks. The reading time for monthly cartridges (those containing monthly and weekly magazines) has increased from four weeks to seven weeks. This reading time does not include the two weeks of “travel time” (one week to get from the producer to the subscriber and then another week to get from the subscriber back to the producer.)
With travel time, weekly magazine cartridges have a total loan period of five weeks from delivery to return. Monthly magazine cartridges have a total of nine weeks from delivery to return.
