Allan Gurganus and Fiction
By Alicia Waters | October 29, 2013
Library Journal has a wonderful online article called, Talking with Allan Gurganus About Local Souls: Now More Than Ever We Need Fiction. I want to share with you some of what the article said and tell you that Talking Books Plus has 3 of Allan’s books. In the article, Allan says “fiction remains vital because it constantly asks,”what if,” creating scenarios that help us consider what’s right, what’s not, and how we should live…Fiction is an editorial process that weeds out extraneous information and the overload of sensation we live with and narrows it down to what is important ethically and emotionally in our lives.” Enjoy Allan Gurganus’ novels and novellas that are in our collection, DB63256, DB30984 and DB59583.
