2015 Summer Reading for All Ages
By Alicia Waters | June 26, 2015
This summer’s statewide library reading theme for young readers is “Every Hero Has a Story.” The teen’s reading theme is “Unmask” while the adults’ theme is “Escape the Ordinary.” Preschooler, young reader, teen and adult resource books following the summer theme can be found on the Talking Books Plus (TBP) 2015 SRP (Summer Reading Program) Reading Lists.
Young readers can register to win free passes to 14 museums and more. Be sure to check out the local public library workshop offerings for young readers and teens. Meeting Street School, a member of Talking Books Plus is a participating library. For more information about the program, read the article, Don’t Miss the Fun This Summer in the Summer 2015 Talking Times newsletter or visit the Summer Reading Program website.
To make summer 2015 the best time ever for the whole family to read, the National Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is promoting its PTA Reading Challenge. To launch in July 2015, the challenge is for families to read together. NLS (National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped), lead organization for the network of talking book library services across the country, is one of the summer reading resources on the PTA Reading Challenge website and resource for those who cannot read regular print.
