Not Getting Your Books?? – Request List Only vs Auto Select
By Alicia Waters | July 12, 2018
Have you at times wondered “where are my books”? If you have chosen to receive books from your “Request List Only”, you must be sure there are requests/titles in your list or nothing will be sent out by the system. Also, there may not be any hard copies of your title(s) available at the time of your request. If you know you have titles in your request list, but you haven’t received your books, please call us at 401-574-9310 so that we can either request an inter-library loan or a duplicated copy for you. You can add titles directly to your request list by going to the online catalog at www.olis.ri.gov/tbl and clicking “Catalog” on the right hand side of the page. Be sure to select titles that are available as hard-copy for mailing and place your selection(s) in your “Book Basket”. You may also want to select “Rush” if you need the book right away. You may select up to 3 titles at a time for “Rush” service. Once you are done click “Proceed to Checkout.” You may also decide to have your books sent via the “Auto Select” method. Auto select will choose books from your preferences on a turn-around basis until your maximum number of books out is reached. TBL staff can tailor your preferences by adding subject matter, authors, exclusions criteria, etc. to your account. Please email us at talking.books@olis.ri.gov or call us Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm for assistance.
