National Library Service for the Blind Changes Name
By Alicia Waters | June 24, 2019
NLS is pleased to announce that they have received final approval from the Librarian of Congress to change their name. This move will help them address the use of outdated language in their current name and more clearly communicate the breadth of those they serve. Beginning on October 1, the name will change officially to “National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled,” though they will continue to be referred to by the abbreviation NLS.
