Changing Screen Colors on BARD

Should the need arise to change the BARD screen from color to black and white, on the BARD Main Page, select Update Account Settings. Find the Color settings option. Select black and white in the drop down box and then click the Update button.

Bestsellers December 2012

The Bestsellers Lists are compiled monthly by NLS. These lists combine information taken from the bestseller lists of the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.

Bestsellers are included in the report when they appear on one of the above bestseller lists for a month or more.

Once a title appears in the report with an NLS number, it will not appear on future reports.

Kick Off for Reading Across RI

On Saturday, January 26, 2013, Rhode Islanders are invited to attend the kick off event for the 2013 Reading Across RI title, The Beauty of Humanity Movement by Camilla Gibb. The event will feature keynote speaker, Col. Theodore L. Gatchell, USMC (ret), Professor Emeritus at the Naval War College. He will talk about the history and culture of Vietnam and give historical context to the The Beauty of Humanity Movement. BARD down Sunday midnight

There’s a BARD alert out to remind BARD users that The Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) will be down for at least twenty-four hours beginning at midnight on Sunday, November 25, while the National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) migrates to a new system. The new BARD  featuring Web-Braille materials and a wish list should be available Tuesday, November 27, at the BARD website.
